Frequently Asked Questions

How soon can you build a team for us?

It depends on how many people you want to see in the team and what their skill set should include. Usually, we assemble the teams within 2-4 weeks after we’ve signed the master service agreement.

If you need a large team (that is, a team with more than fifteen people), we prefer to get the people together in groups of two or three: a first group within the first month, a second one — adding another two or three people to the team — within the second, and so on. In that way, we mitigate some of the production risks related to onboarding lots of new faces into the game dev project.

Can you make a test assignment?

Yes, and we’re eager to. We think that’s a perfect chance for iLogos to prove that we know our deal, to find out details about your expectations — and to discuss what communication styles and workflows will inform our partnership from the start.

Can I build a full-cycle art team at iLogos?

Yes. We have a full range of art expertsMore than 120 people work in our art department: concept artists, animators, 2D and 3D artists, VFX experts, UI/UX and tech artists. They do all sorts of art for our clients: they can develop new art styles or elaborate on the old ones, they do art direction and LiveOps for projects that are already completed, and they’re obsessed with their work.

How will you select our team members?

We analyze your project specifications and requirements and go through our talent base to find people with matching skills and interests.

People who hate horror would never work on your game about eldritch beings invading the world. Those who don’t like mobile games won’t build casual puzzles for iOS.

We don’t believe in the convenience of getting whoever is available on the project — if team members aren’t into what they’re doing, they get complacent, and that’s now what we want. We also try to assemble teams with people that worked together before, so they know each other’s quirks, tricks, and working styles. That majorly increases the team’s efficiency.

Can your team members pass our external interview?

Absolutely, and it’s something they’re used to. All we need to know is how many steps your interview process has, who leads the interview, and what the language of the meeting is.

How can we be sure the team is suitable?

First of all, we’re great at hiring good specialists — we have been doing it since 2006. We select members of your team based on their experience and personal interest in your game. That reduces the production risk of you getting unmotivated and disengaged people on your project.

Very rarely, if teams that work with clients don’t meet their expectations, we use a process built for such cases — and replace people you aren’t happy with, quickly and without disrupting anything. When that happens because we’ve gotten your requirements wrong or misinterpreted something you’ve specified, we pay onboarding costs for new people.

Which cooperation models do you have for the team extension?

We have two main options — but we’re super flexible and ready to adapt to the cooperation model of your choice if you have ideas on how this should go.

First is the dedicated teams (DDT) approach — using it, you hire experts you need and pay their monthly rates. Game companies that are just releasing their first game use the DDT model because it’s flexible. Within it, if you need to test your game among real users and then implement the feedback you’ve received, you don’t need to renew contracts, sign a new one, or calculate a new scope like it’s necessary for the fixed-price projects. You’re just starting the next stage of working on the game, with the same people & hourly rate you’re used to — without delaying the whole thing with the drag of paperwork. (Note that the DDT model can be used with a team of one — e.g., if your team lacks an artist or, like, C++ engineer.)

The second option is building a production unit from scratch. This unit is working from iLogos facilities. You are as involved in the hiring as you wish to be. Our management handles the rest: ensures cost transparency for you, negotiates contracts with new employees, provides them with the equipment they need, onboarding, etc.

Can I build a full-cycle team with iLogos, or is it an art team only?

We do full-cycle production for half of our projects, so yes, you absolutely can. Apart from the core development team, we have Producers, Product Owners, and Analysts that help you make your game more enjoyable and engaging.

Can the team suggest a production pipeline for the game?

Yes. We analyze your business goals, ways to achieve them, what you already have, communication options you prefer, and the required level of our involvement in the project, and offer you an optimal process for production.

We’re proud of our pipelines a lot: they make work quicker and more productive, and they’re based on clear communication guidelines that leave little room for misunderstandings. We’ve built them after years of trying to get different people right and learning different development practices. According to the feedback from top game companies we’ve worked with, they are pretty cool.

Can iLogos work on our pipeline?

Yes, and we’ll be happy to. As we mentioned, we worked with more than a hundred game companies of different sizes, niches, genres, etc, — and for each of them, we built a unique production pipeline that fits into their business goals, approach to communication, workflow, and vibes.
